ABOUT
Dr. Vito A. Boits, PT, DPT, owner of V-FIT Functional Physical Therapy, graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science in 2004 that focused on understanding how the human body responds to physical activity, exercise, and movement. It combined coursework in physiology, anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics. In 2010, Vito completed the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Touro College to enhance his knowledge of the musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular systems to treat movement dysfunctions.
My goal as a physical therapist is to provide exceptional care to individuals seeking relief from acute and chronic pain, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, and sports-related injuries.
With years of experience and a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, I am dedicated to tailoring treatment plans that address the unique needs of every patient, helping them achieve optimal function, long-term wellness, and a renewed sense of confidence in their body.
At the heart of my practice is the Functional Manual Therapy (FMT) approach, a comprehensive and hands-on method that goes beyond traditional therapy to treat the root causes of dysfunction. This approach integrates advanced manual therapy techniques, movement pattern retraining, and personalized exercise strategies to restore strength, mobility, and balance.
By addressing restrictions in joint mobility, soft tissue, and neuromuscular control, I aim to provide efficient and effective solutions for pain relief and functional restoration.
My commitment extends beyond treating symptoms— strive to empower my patients through education, teaching them about their condition and how they can actively participate in their recovery journey. Whether helping athletes regain peak performance, supporting individuals through post-surgical rehabilitation, or guiding those with chronic conditions toward improved daily function, my goal is to help patients reclaim the activities and lifestyle they love.
A Family Legacy of Building
Coming from a family of builders, I see a profound parallel between the human body and the structures my family has constructed for generations. My father and younger brother, both carpenters, my older brother operating cranes, and my uncle running a concrete company have contributed to building superstructures across New York City.
In many ways, the human body mirrors these features of engineering:
Skeleton & Structure- A building’s skeleton, like the human skeletal system, provides strength and protection.
Electrical Wiring & Nervous System- Electrical wiring functions like the nervous system, transmitting signals and information.
Plumbing & Circulation- Plumbing systems parallel the circulatory and renal systems, ensuring the flow and removal of essential materials.
Movement & Machinery- Elevators and cranes reflect the coordinated movement of the musculoskeletal system, allowing seamless motion.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help the human body function at its best—repairing, maintaining, and optimizing its systems for a healthy, active, and fulfilling life. Drawing inspiration from my family's legacy of constructing enduring structures, I am committed to building resilience and strength in every individual. Just as my family ensures buildings stand the test of time, I approach each patient as a unique foundation, tailoring care to support seamless operation and long-term vitality. This legacy of creating and maintaining intricate systems is what inspired me to pursue physical therapy.
